Not technical, and proud of it. Just Real, Raw and Rockin’! That’s how you describe “The” Steve O’Dell’s style.

Born and raised in Forest City, NC; Steve  was first introduced to music at the age 5 when his Uncle Joe-(G-man) turned him on to KISS. From that moment on he was hooked, and he knew he wanted to be a musician. Soon after, he discovered other great bands  like LED ZEPPELIN, AC/DC, AEROSMITH, VAN HALEN, then came MÖTLEY CRÜE, JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN.

At 15, Steve got his first guitar , an Eterna EF-15, as a Christmas gift from his Pop. After taking a few lessons and learning new licks from his friends who also played, Steve’s style began to develop and was further honed by guitar greats Ace Frehley, Angus Young , Joe Perry,  Tony Iommi, and Ted Nugent  just to name a few.

From his days in high school, Steve has played in numerous bands, (most notably KUNKUSSION, UNDERCOVER, and STEEL HEROES). Steve has played thousands of shows as well as written and recorded original material.  Two of his original songs were “Metal’s Revenge” and “Hands of Time”.  These have been played on local radio stations WTPT, WROQ, and WXRC.

30 plus years after picking up the guitar,  Steve is still rocking hard! Now playing by his side is his brother Colden O’Dell on bass, long time friend Freddie Bracket on vocals, and  power house drummer Robb Williamson! HAMMER DOWN are gearing up to take the local music scene by storm and their take no prisoners approach is leaving new fans in their wake!
